Sadly, America Has Forgotten
“Honey, wanted to tell you how much I love you. I was a little worried. I don't want to lose you now that I got you back. You mean everything to me. You have my whole heart and life. I love you so much.”
“YOUR SISTER JOE SAW THE NEWS AND WANT TO KNOW IF YOU ARE OKAY. PLEASE CALL ME AT WORK AND LEAVE A MESSAGE IF I AM NOT AT MY DESK.”
“2 AIRPLANES HAVE JUST CRASHED INTO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. CALL ME WHEN YOU CAN– YOUR WIFE.”
These are just a few text/phone messages that were received on 9/11/2001 from the planes that either struck one of the towers, hit the Pentagon or landed in a Pennsylvania field. America suffered a horrendous terror attack that day nineteen years ago. Afterward, it seemed that we could not be separated, and patriotism was at an all time high. Members of Congress joined hands, believe it or not, and the mission to set out and destroy those responsible was unquestioned. There were no racial divides. It did not matter what your color was. Simply put, we were Americans. The mantra “Never Forget” was created and placed all over televisions, buildings and the terror attack locations.
How so much can change in just nineteen years.
Our country is hardly recognizable now. We live in deep political division. There are riots all over the country. People cannot eat in peace at outdoor dining locations without radical leftists screaming in their faces.
Democrats still cannot get over that Trump won and refuse to work with Republicans, but still insist that Republicans should work with them, even though they are not in power. Then we have radical leftist citizens pushing their agenda to fundamentally change America, bringing freedom lovers versus government-controlled socialists. And there are few in between.
America is in one of the deepest divides since the race wars of the 1960’s and the Civil War Era of the 1860’s. Democrats have moved to the radical left and made socialism mainstream, making your grandparents Democratic Party a thing of the past. Republicans have been weak, going along to get along and not heeded warnings from Conservatives that Democrats could damage America with their leftward lurching policies.
Any type of pushback from the right and the left begins to call opponents names with no evidence.
Now, we see an attempted insurrection by radical leftists. Ironically, these are occurring in large Democrat led cities – the same Democrats that refuse to call the rioters out for what they are.
The mainstream media is covering for leftist riots, harassing innocent citizens and property damage. Patriotic American citizens are tired of radical leftists, and starting to physically fight back. All of this has led to a “choose a side” mentality.
Those on the left have forgotten about 9/11. Is this a failure of education and not teaching the truth, or is it simply that radical leftism has been able to securely sink its American-hating claws deeper into our country than realized?
There is plenty of evidence that the left has forgot, just watch these Democrat ran cities burn to understand.
At this time in our nation’s history, it is safe to say that there are people who either have forgotten or simply do not care and they get all the attention from the media for their apathy.
So, I ask this question: Never forget, or never cared?
