Your Past Doesn't Matter!

Your past doesn't matter. I'm specifically talking about the good stuff. You won this; you accomplished that. You gained notoriety, but none of that matters today. The best and worst part of sales is that you're only as good as your last sale. Life is the same way.
If you haven't changed, grown, or accomplished anything recently, then who cares! Guys rest on accomplishments that happened 20 years ago and think that entitles them to some sort of prize today. If you aren't continually pushing, then you are dying. There's no other way to look at it. If you aren't striving, failing, growing, and winning right now, then you aren't the man you should be.
A man must continually push himself for his country, community, friends, family, and, most importantly, himself. Stop going back into the past and dwelling on past successes. Focus on the now. Focus on what you can do today to bring about a new future for yourself.
Warriors periodically sharpened their swords; they kept them sharp. They wanted to be ready for battle. Are you doing this? Are you regularly sharpening your sword for the days, weeks, months, and years to come? I don't care if you're 80 years old; you can still accomplish something. Cable of the bible conquered a mountain full of giants and called it his home at 85 years old. Colonel Sanders, Harland David Sanders, began Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 65. Your past doesn't have to define you. You're not dead. The future can be your best years, but you must stop dwelling on past accomplishments and live in the now.
If you're a crap father, a crap husband, an all-around dick, a coward, or something else, you can change. There's only one way though, sharpen your sword. Take control of your situation. It's a daily commitment; sometimes it's a minute by minute fight. You will fail, but the more you push through, the more you keep fighting, you'll win, and you'll change.
If you change your mindset and focus on today, every day, a year from now, you'll be a different man. If you don't have the tools, then find the tools. There is information everywhere. Books, youtube, podcasts, blogs, mentors, the world is at your fingertips.
A year from now, I won't look back and see the same man I am today, with the same hang-ups, the same failures, or stuck in the same ruts. I won't settle for average, or second best, and you don't have to either. The world needs Toxic men, real men.
To be a real man, you have to do the hard things. This is a hard thing. Don't settle. The world has been changed repeatedly by one determined man that refused to give up or shut up until he accomplished his goal. You can be that man. Maybe you won't change the world, but you can change your world. You can better your tribe, your family, your neighborhood, or perhaps even your city. However, this can only occur if you keep pushing, you keep changing and keep making progress.
Take a note from Michael Jordan. He said, "I never lost a game. I ran out of time." Or to quote the documentary Galaxy Quest, "Never give up. Never Surrender."
As always, stay toxic, my brothers.
Wow, I am a woman and feeling inspired!! If every man would read this every morning can you imagine what they could accomplish!
